Tiger King star Joe Exotic is currently serving a 22-year jail sentence for conspiring to kill Carole Baskin, as well as a string of animal abuse charges.
The zoo owner recently insisted he was ‘done’ with the drama regarding his rival following the release of the Netflix documentary on his life – however his former TV producer believes this isn’t quite true.
In fact, in a livestream Q&A session Rick Kirkham claimed the 57-year-old will be ‘looking for revenge’ when he leaves prison.
Speaking to journalist Per Sundnes, he said: ‘22 years… I’ve got to tell you, he’s where he belongs.
‘I’m telling you, when he gets out, he’s going to go for revenge. Joe Exotic is not the kind of guy who, if he got out today, would forgive and forget, and move on. This is the kind of guy, he’s going to get some payback.
‘And all of us who know him, know that personality within him. He would not just come out and go, “Hey, I’m a new man.” He’d come out and he’d go for revenge.’
‘It’s the kind of revenge I’m talking about that is in Joe’s heart,’ he continued. ‘If Joe were to get out of prison today, you can bet your ass he would be getting revenge on Carole Baskin, and whoever it was that turned him into the FBI.
‘I guarantee you in his heart, it’s revenge. It’s not regret, it’s not remorse, it’s revenge.’
Ahead of the livestream, Rick opened up to Metro.co.uk about his relationship with the GW Zoo owner – explaining there was a point that Joe asked him to ‘get rid’ of Carole himself.
‘Joe approached me to get rid of, as we put it, Carole Baskin when I was at the park,’ the 61-year-old told us.
‘He said, “Rick, I can make you a rich man if you can go down to Tampa and get rid of that b***h for me.” I thought he was joking, and said “Oh Joe, you can’t be doing that, don’t be saying that on camera”.
‘He said, “I don’t care if it’s on camera or not, I’ll make a rich man out of whoever goes down there and offs that b***h”.’
Opening up on the conversation, Rick admitted it was ‘frightening’.
‘People can say, “Hey, I want to kill you”, hell I’ve said it before but I didn’t mean it,’ he continued. ‘This guy meant it.
‘That’s what’s ironic, because now I realise all the times he made hints at going down there and getting rid of Carole, he was serious.
‘That’s the frightening part. He was serious and he was very capable of it, too. He knew all the right people, all the bad guys. He had a lot of bad friends.’
Tiger King is available to stream on Netflix now.
