Tory Lanez Explains His Tweet That Many Assumed Was Shade On Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has long been known by her fans and the general hip-hop community as one of the best female rappers of all time. However, her reputation took a hit a number of times over the last few years, including her feud with Remy Ma, Cardi B, and now, her association with Tekashi 6ix9ine.

For some, Nicki Minaj has lost some of her credibility in the scene for hanging around Tekashi 6ix9ine, who received a reduced sentence for telling on his former associates in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

Of course, ratting out one’s contemporaries is a massive faux-pas in the hip-hop scene. Even rappers such as Future have taken to their social media to insinuate that Nicki Minaj was no good either because of her work with Daniel Hernandez, AKA, Tekashi 6ix9ine.

The rapper said on his Twitter account that “rats and their friends deserved to die,” which many online assumed was about Nicki. Another rapper to stir controversy in this regard is Tory Lanez, who reportedly was caught liking a nasty tweet about Minaj.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Nicki Minaj, and Tekashi 6ix9ine’s latest song together, “TROLLZ,” debuted at the number one position upon its release, but in the following week, it dropped down to #34 – an unprecedented drop.

Tory Lanez liked a tweet that commented on the new song. The social media user argued that such a thing would never happen to the likes of Cardi B, who, of course, is on top of her game right now in a big way.

When Tory liked the tweet, Twitter users came out to ask why he would get involved. Lanez said on his account that he “accidentally pressed the like” button.

According to the Toronto rapper, everyone knows him as being very “vocal” in the scene. If he had a problem with someone, he would say it outright, rather than like a random tweet as a way of taking shots at the “queen.” As most know, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s feud is still on many people’s minds.
