At least one injured following ‘explosion’ near train station

At least one person was injured following reports of an explosion near a train station in Suffolk.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics all rushed to the scene in Station Road, Stowmarket.

The public was urged to avoid the area while the emergency services deal with the incident.

Local reports said a gas canister exploded at a mobile catering van near the station.

Suffolk Police said: ‘Stowmarket Train Station has now reopened following an incident in the town.

‘Police were called to reports of an explosion at 8.20pm. Firefighters and paramedics were also in attendance.

‘At least one person was injured, however, their injuries are no longer believed to be serious.
