I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here star Hollie Arnold has said she’s ‘upset’ with the comments made online about her MBE.

In the first episode, the celebrities were seen introducing themselves to each other over walkie talkies, with the Paralympian saying: ‘Hollie Arnold MBE,’ a moment which Ant and Dec later joked about.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk after becoming the first celebrity to leave the castle, Hollie explained: ‘I’m quite upset really about the comments [on Twitter].

‘I never, ever want to come across as, “Oh look at me, I’m Hollie Arnold MBE.”

‘The thought process behind that was my mum has constantly told me to be proud of that. It’s such an honour and I’m so humbled. To be able to get that, it’s incredible.’

Hollie, 26, recalled the moment the celebs introduced themselves, explaining: ‘In the back of my head it was [my mum telling me], “Say MBE.” When I said it, I thought nothing of it.

‘Mo Farah is Sir Mo Farah and he actually said that, but I think because Shane [Richie] was talking on the walkie talkie, you couldn’t hear it.’

‘It’s a little bit weird, everybody got so riled up,’ she continued.

‘I don’t like these comments but the real people know I do not use MBE ever, ever. But all I can say is I’m proud to have my MBE and it’s such an honour and I won’t let people like that get me down, because it’s who I am.’

Hollie was the first of the celebs to leave camp, after spending almost two weeks with stars including Sir Mo, Shane, Giovanna Fletcher, Beverley Callard, and Jordan North.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after her exit, she said: ‘I’m devastated, but one of us has to go, right?

‘I never really knew what to expect so it’s like, go in there, enjoy every single minute of it. It’s a crazy opportunity for me.’

The athlete also raved about the bond she shared with her campmates, describing them all as her ‘friends of life’.

When asked who she wanted to win, she only had one name on her mind, adding: ‘Jordan, because he’s so lovely’.

The eliminations are set to continue, with the final airing on December 4 as the series is cut down this year.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly at 9pm on ITV.
