Our Favorite Christmas Horror Movies



Are you tired of watching the ordinary cookie-cutter, traditional holiday movies? Then you might want to check out these spooky Christmas movies and here's our picks of some the best!


Krampus


Join Adam Scott, Toni Collette, and David Koechner in this horror comedy filled with laughs and of course good scares. Based on the European folklore legend, Krampus tells the story of a young boy who accidentally summons the terrifying half demon and half goat who punishes children. Krampus harasses the boy's family along with the wicked gingerbread, a fanged and villainous teddybear and killer jack-in the box.

Better Watch Out


Chris Peckover's Better Watch Out isn't your ordinary home invasion thriller. Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) must defend herself while babysitting 12-year-old Luke (Levi Miller) after intruders show up to the house. What audiences won't see coming is the frightening and unexpected turn as the movie can be described as a gruesome Home Alone as the film also stars Ed Oxenbould, Dacre Montgomery, Patrick Warburton, and Virgina Madsen. This is a must watch if you are into slasher features.

Gremlins


Directed by the legendary horror director, Joe Dante and produced by Steven Spielberg this creature feature is an 1980's classic. Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) gets a small, furry, and cute creature called mogwai named Gizmo (voiced by Howie Mandel) for Christmas and there are serious responsibilities for taking care of him. Never get him wet, must be kept away from bright light and understand that under any circumstances do not fed him after midnight. Turns out these creatures cause serious mayhem and can be really scary taking over the town.

Anna and the Apocalypse


If you enjoy movies like Shaun of the Dead and shows like Glee then Anna and the Apocalypse is the movie for you! John McPhail's movie is a zombie apocalypse musical romantic comedy. Join Anna (Ella Hunt) and her friends as they fight to take down hungry zombies set in a small Scottish town. Watch Anna and her friend burst out singing while trying to save themselves. This fun a musical filled with gore, singing, dancing, and of course Christmas spirit!

Black Christmas 


Black Christmas has been remade and the concept has been played around with over the years, the original 1974 movie is the classic. The movie is set during the Christmas break and a group of sorority girls are stalked by a peculiar stranger. This slasher features a haunting serial killer on the loose as the movie creates a creepy atmosphere especially when you hear the killer's voice over the phone.

Jack Frost


This isn't your traditional Frosty the Snowman movie a cult classic amongst audiences. This low budget horror movie is about a serial killer named Jack Frost seeking revenge so he returns to life as a snowman looking to murder. The movie is bad, but is silly in the best way possible for how ridiculous it is.
