The Voice finally returned for the semi-final eight months after it shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, but only four of the nine acts will be returning for next week’s final.
Saturday’s show saw the four judges having to pick just one of their acts each, to go through to compete in the final.
While Olly Murs, Tom Jones and Will.i.am were present in the studio, Meghan Trainor was live from Los Angeles via video link on a huge screen in her chair as she was unable to fly in due to the ongoing pandemic and the fact she is pregnant.
The judges had tough decisions to make but the final four were revealed to be Jonny Brooks, Brooke Scullion, Blessing Chitapa and Gevanni Hutton.
Tom had to pick between Jonny Brooks and Lois Moodie, bit the one he decided to send through to the final was Jonny.
Will had the hardest job of the night with three acts to choose from – Gevanni Hutton, Lucy Calcines and Doug Sure, who was the public’s Lifeline winner.
After much deliberation, Will decided that the act he was taking through to next week was Gevanni.
Meghan had to make the choice between Trinity-Leigh Cooper and Brooke Scullion, but took Brooke through to the final.
Olly’s finalists Jordan Phillips and Blessing Chitapa left him in a quandary but he ultimately picked Blessing.
The four finalists will now get to compete in next week’s final to decide who will be crowned winner of The Voice 2020.
The Voice final airs on ITV on Saturday from 8.40pm.
