Body of Man Found Floating in Echo Park Lake

The body of an apparent accidental drowning victim was found floating Thursday in Echo Park Lake, police said.

The discovery of the man’s body was made about 10:30 a.m. in the lake at 751 Echo Park Ave., said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was believed to have been about 40 years old, Madison said.

The discovery came while evangelical Christian activist Sean Feucht held a musical and homeless outreach event at Echo Park Lake.

It was the latest in a series of events planned in the Los Angeles area by Feucht, who has repeatedly ignored public health directives by holding events that critics have decried as potential super-spreader events for the coronavirus.
