A 35-year-old man in Pasadena was critically wounded by a gunman while standing in an alley talking on a cellphone, a police lieutenant said Sunday.
Officers dispatched at 2:15 p.m. Friday to reports of shots being fired in the area of Wheeler Lane and Hammond Street were made aware that the shooting victim, suffering from at least three gunshot wounds, was taken to Pasadena Fire Station 36, about two blocks away, Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
The fire department notified the police department of the shooting, Burgess said, and paramedics rushed the 35-year-old man, in critical condition, to an area hospital.
Police had no details about what led up to the shooting.
Pasadena police urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 626-744-4620.
