Emily Atack was supported by her close friend and anti-knife crime campaigner Brooke Kinsella MBE as she took on The Cube for charity.

A celebrity special version of the programme aired on Sunday night which saw the TV presenter and her mum Kate Robbins win money for a good cause.

The pair were playing for The Ben Kinsella Trust, set up by EastEnders actress Brooke after her brother was stabbed and killed on a night out in 2008.

Brooke was watching along from home and was feeling the tension as much as the rest of us as Emily and Kate faced the Cube’s tricky tasks.

The pair struggled with a challenge where they had to throw a ball up onto a raised platform in order to win £20,000.

Kate had a couple of goes but sadly failed to complete it, leaving the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star to step in.

After asking the Cube to ‘simplify’ the challenge, the distance Emily had to throw was shortened.

She had another crack at it and managed to land the ball on the platform, winning £20,000.

Host Phillip Schofield offered them a chance to play for £50,000, but after deciding the next task was too much of a gamble, they stuck with the £20,000 for The Ben Kinsella Trust.

An emotional Brooke tweeted her praise for both Emily and Kate.

She said: ‘It’s an actual Christmas miracle @EmAtack & @KateRobbins – you are absolute angels. £20,000!!!

‘That money will do so very much for @kinsellatrust and allow so many children to hear and hopefully learn from Ben’s story. Thank you from the top to the bottom of my heart.’

Emily shared her tweet and added a string of red love heart emoji.

Joking about a tough earlier challenge, Brooke added: ‘Jesus I did not know I could hold my breathe for that long…’

Brooke, best known for playing Kelly Taylor on the soap, was awarded an MBE for her efforts with the charity.

She welcomed her baby daughter Elsie Rose Georgia in October.
