Warning: spoilers ahead for the season two finale of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars icon Mark Hamill has reacted to that massive twist in the season two finale of The Mandalorian, revealing that the secret was kept ‘for over a year’ without any leaks.

On Friday, The Mandalorian fans were left in awe by the final episode of the second series on Disney Plus, which saw Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) go head to head with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) while also teasing a spin-off series about bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison).

Having rescued Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) on Moff’s cruiser, Mando and his allies witness a Jedi board the spaceship, taking out numerous stormtroopers and dark troopers while wielding a green lightsaber.

When the Jedi finally reaches them, he removes his hood to reveal he is none other than Luke Skywalker, portrayed by Mark in the original Star Wars films and the subsequent sequel trilogy.

Viewers were ‘screaming’ over the big reveal, with one person describing Luke’s meeting with Grogu as ‘some of the best Star Wars content ever’.

On Saturday, Mark, 69, finally spoke out about his cameo, tweeting: ‘The fact that we were able to keep my involvement a secret for over a year with no leaks is nothing less than a miracle.’

He said that their success keeping his role on the show a secret was ‘a real triumph for spoiler-haters everywhere’, adding the hashtags ‘#LooseLipsSinkStarships’ and ‘#STFU’.

On the day the finale was released, Mark tweeted a not-so-subtle reference to his appearance, writing: ‘Seen anything good on TV lately?’

At the very end of The Mandalorian season two finale, a post-credits scene aired, showing Boba and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) taking over the former palace of Jabba the Hutt.

After Boba sits down on the throne, wording appears on the screen that says: ‘The Book of Boba Fett. Coming December 2021.’

Many people have taken this to mean that a Boba Fett spin-off series will be released at the end of next year.

However, some people have speculated that it could imply Boba will become the protagonist of The Mandalorian for the third series.

The Mandalorian is available to watch on Disney Plus.
