Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken out after Manchester United beat Aston Villa to go level on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.
The Red Devils beat a resolute Villa side 2-1 at Old Trafford to move to 33 points, level with defending champions Liverpool.
Aston Villa forward Bertrand Traore cancelled out Anthony Martial’s first-half header on Friday but Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty soon after to clinch a significant victory for Solskjaer’s side.
Asked about Manchester United going joint-top, Solskjaer said: ‘Of course we are happy with what we are doing. We have shown we have improved a lot in a year. We lost to Arsenal away last new year’s day.
‘We have improved immensely. We are getting fitter and fitter and stronger and stronger.
‘These players have a great age. They are learning and are hungry to learn which is important. They come in every day with a hunger and desire to be the best on match day. They have been focused.’
